Some of your favorites of 2011-2012?
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.
Definitely the most surprising film I've seen for a while.

This feels similar to the many "Best of 2011" threads we already have just with 2012 tacked on. But I'll play anyway. If it gets closed it gets closed.
Lots of great movies from last year. I get the impression not many were that impressed but I certainly was. Not seen too many from this year but there's been one I absolutely adored and another I really liked a lot.
2011
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
The Help
Midnight In Paris
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Bellflower
Super 8
The Artist
50/50
Carnage
2012
The Cabin in the Woods
The Intouchables
and no, I haven't seen The Avengers and don't plan to, either.

The Grey!
Only saw it a few weeks ago but it immediately jumped pretty high in my mental list of favorites
PS: I saw 21 Jump Street yesterday, as senseless entertainment it really hit the spot. Got me laughing pretty hard a few times . I recommend it for any students that need a break from studying

I liked 21 Jump Street a lot, one of the best no-brainer comedies of the year.
Channing & Jonah make a great team. I usually hate Channing, but he was quite charming here.
& I definitely see Jonah as a promising actor.
My main problem with The Grey was that it had a very misleading trailer. I didn't hate it, but didn't like it either.
