Music-wise, What's Your Latest Discovery?

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
I really like Hey Mercedes, Senses Fail, the New Amsterdams, Dashboard, Face to Face. Pretty much all their bands.

Everyone should go download The New Amsterdams - Hover Near Fame.

I am getting into this band called Tortoise, its kinda like detached instrumental/experimental rock music.

Recommend: Orange Goblin/Electric Wizard split, song from each and OG cover of Black Sabbath, Hand of Doom
(not forgetting Electric Wizard, Dopethrone...classic)
Incredible band, Stoner Doom at it's best.

As for me, my latest discoveries are

Virgin Black
Avrigus
Burning Witch
Vidsyn
Thergothon

For heavey metal, the Melvins. But my biggest discovery to date is Pink Floyd. I've been a fan of theirs for a LONG time but until about a month ago I'd only heard like 3 of their songs. Now I own Dark Side of the Moon, the Wall, Wish You Were Here, Division Bell, Echoes and Ummagumma.

None of these are really unheard of bands but they are what I'm into currently into though.

The Darkness
Gotta love that 80's style rock 'n roll. Guitar solo's are still cool.
Favourite Songs - Growing on me, I believe in a thing called Love, Love is only a Feeling.

JET

Go Australian Bands
Favourite Songs - Are you gonna be my Girl, Rollover DJ, Cold hard bitch, Hold On (featured on Spiderman 2).

Oasis

Just recently started to get into their stuff. When they were at my height was before my time.
Favourite Songs - Wonderwall, Don't look back in anger, Champagne Supernova.

Howie Day

I don't know what it is about his music but I really like it.
Favourite Songs - Ghost, Secret, Perfect Time of Day.

I had to leave early before so I added a few more bands/people.

Randomly visiting for now
Probably the reason why The Darkness are suddenly so successful is that because they have ripping guitar solos and cool drum beats, as apposed to commercialised rock bands who make generally a lot of sales but don't have the right sound for true rock fans.

I've been getting into Dashboard Confessionals, The ataris, The Vines, Cat Empire, Muse (Thanks for recommendation), The darkness (Obviously), eskimo joe (Aussie Band) and Linkin Park (older stuff).

Props to the Allman Brothers, man. They are so totally amazing. There is no comparing them to todays bands. They're so far above them in terms of talent. Song writing is weak, grantted, but they more than make up for it with their awesome talent.

For myself, I don't listen to much new music. I let time test alot of todays new bands. Although I do buy some new music ( Sarah Harmer, Phish) I generally let an album sit for 5 to 10 years before I purchase it. I don't know why, I just do. The last CD I purchased was the "Everly Brothers Greates Hits." If you like honest lyrics and pure harmony, this is a great selection.

Hello Salem, my name's Winifred. What's yours

And Greenday still rock, i really love american idiot and stuff like basketcase
