I just finished Southern Comfort (1981), decent but won't make my list.

I've got the whole 80s to catch up on. Strangely, it's my least watched decade and I was born in it.

I think there's a few from the eighties that I'd like to watch before I send in a list but not too many.

I'm hoping we can get to those decades too, lots of Asian films!

Let's talk about what '80s movies we'd like to see on the '80s list so people will know what to vote for.

There's probably 500 movies in contention to make it. A lot of iconic movies will fall short.

The 1950's will have huge number of Asian films since that decade was the peak of Japanese cinema.

I'm sure they will. A Nightmare on Elm Street will probably lose to Yuki's Reincarnated Dragons Become Toyko Princesses or something like that.

Of course why wouldn't it?

Akira Kurosawa's Ran, maybe even Kagemusha. Hou Hsiao-hsien's City of Sadness, Dust in the Wind, and A Time to Live and a Time to Die; Edward Yang's The Terrorizer. Imamura's Black Rain and The Ballad of Narayama. Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, and the Japanese doc The Emperor's Naked Army Marches On. Zhang Yimou's Red Sorghum and Zhuangzhuang Tian's Horse Thief. Tampopo and The Family Game. A few to start with.

An All Asian Eighties!

Can we at least get Sixteen Candles on the '80s list? PLEASE.

Do it for Long Duck Dong.



I mean the man even comes with his own gong sound.

Also, since people here haven't watched much 1950's films as they have 1990's and 2000's films they would be more open to include stuff like Seven Samurai in their top lists.

And I think I got my 80's list done.
