Box Office seems to be settling down now just shy of $1.3 Billion, still time to improve a trickle. rather a big 35% drop off from TFA.

This could be argued as both a success and a failure. In terms of all time inflation adjusted domestic gross it's settling in at around 40th place, with ANH number 2 and, ep 1,5,6 and 7 in the top 10-20 range.
Its chance of passing Deathly Hallows Part II worldwide is as good as gone, then. I'm personally not surprised, but it seems a lot of Star Wars fans expected this film to end up at around $1.5-$1.7 billion globally. It was never going to be anywhere close to TFA, for numerous obvious reasons.

Also think it suffered from a lack of repeat viewings. While I'd wager hardcore fans went and saw TFA five, six, seven times, disappointment with TLJ caused them to see it only once, or twice to confirm their feelings. A combination of franchise fatigue and weak consensus among fans caused this, I think.

This might just do nobody any good.
Someone made a 46 minute cut of this removing all the female character...

Welcome to the human race...
For a bunch of guys who complain about how awful this movie is, they sure seem hell-bent on making it worse.

Someone made a 46 minute cut of this removing all the female character...

If it featured only male characters it would have ended sooner than 46 minutes because Poe would have lead a second failed attack against the First Order fleet and the few resistance fighters remaining would have killed each other off in a hail of blaster fire while arguing over strategy and who was boss and whose penis was bigger.

Initial rumors suggested that Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren were going to attack Luke Skywalker and Rey on Ahch-To, which obviously did not happen. Then rumors sprung up that Snoke's Praetorian Guards might be the Knights of Ren, another rumor that proved to not be true.

When it came down to addressing the Knights of Ren, Rian Johnson simply said that there wasn't any room for them in the already densely packed story

This Video.

As soon as I stepped out of the cinema seeing the last Jedi The first thing I did was trash the movie on this site but now I've collected my thoughts and feelings about the film and I have a lot more to say about it. But I hope this thread doesn't get moved as i have spent a lot of time into writing it.

The thing I find most pitiful about the last Jedi is the fact that it puts its story second and it's unnecessary political agenda first. Where the movie portrayals everywoman strong, and men as reckless and without thought. The best example of this is the purple haired Lady who takes control of the ship and it's escape plan after layers injury, rather then telling Poe her plan she randomly calls him a hotheaded fly boy and keep him and a lot of her crew in the dark almost causing a mutiny. So TLJ chooses to insult one of its leading male characters rather than developing his story and the story of the movie in general. As the film takes an unnecessary detail to a crooked casino where the movie dives into a Q&A generalising rich people as gambling fools. Just when you think maybe there is a purpose for them being on the planet they randomly go on a mission to rescue some animals, and throw in a cringeworthy back story to the character rose. Who we find out seems to have a thing against wealthy people.

The movie also tyres to create a romance between fin and rose in which they have no chemistry but it seems the story demands it as Finn tries to sacrifice himself for the resistance, in which he didn't care about until he met Rose which he only knew her for one day. I thought finally they are hiring the stakes in this movie but that wasn't the case as rose saves him out of nowhere and gives him a peck on the cheek. I can't help thinking The whole rose and thin storyline was a politically agenda tactic to promote an interracial relationship in which they have no chemistry to begin with. And I am all for equality towards men and women and races, but the last Jedi forces it's politically fuelled message down everyone's throat. To the point where it puts its message above the actual storytelling.

And the truth is I like to think no one gives a crap about gender or race anymore but this movie is proof that the world has not moved on with its SJW movement of reverse sexism. It makes me sad how people are still blind to this kind of obvious propaganda. So the way I see it watching the last Jedi is like watching a sleazy stand-up comic who throws his own political agenda in his own stand up just to bash people over the head with his opinionated beliefs in which this case it's Disney.

Also In the original trilogy the characters often faced the consequences of there decisions. Luke lost his hand Han Solo was frozen in carbonate Leila became a sex slave The list goes on. but with the sequel trilogy Ray is a Mary Sue who can use complex Jedi mind tricks within one day of learning what the forces is, pilot the millennium falcon better than Han Solo ever could. And literally she goes to be trained by Luke only to tell him he's an old man who is a coward and beats him in combat, zero training required. And even worse later on killing highly trained guards of snoke again with no training under her belt at all. Even Aniken trained years before getting good at the force and he had the highest mediclorian count of all so I don't know what rays excuse is.

The way I see it watching the sequel trilogy is like watching a polished video game where all the good guys just kick ass without any consequences or repercussions, their growth as characters seem to come out of nowhere. Overall They are very hollow and unconvincing characters who are unlikable and unrelate able.

Also The giant fish head guy who says it's a trap has an off screen death could it be because he is an alien male. Also I think it would've been more appropriate if he was the one who sacrificed him self instead of the purple haired lady since he was of the original trilogy and a of screen death is a slap in the face to any true Star Wars fan. Misguided Star Wars fans argue ,well it's because kylo says let the past die, but for a world as rich in history as Star Wars characters from the original trilogy should be celebrated not reduced to cowards and a bunch of offscreen deaths. If anything the sequel trilogy belittles disrespects and contaminates the very history of the Star Wars universe that George Lucas spent so long to created.

Also Luke Skywalker is portrayal in the movie as a coward could it be because he's a white male, who knows how the warped minds of Disney think. Luke also Contemplates killing a student because his student has Dark side thoughts. Skywalker is an optimist at heart who saw good in Vader when no one else did. So having him contemplate killing a child goes against everything he stands for. Also the the last seine where he projects himself into the force felt pointless and his death was without weight. Which he should've left the island and faced up to Kylo Ren for real. And his death carried no weight just like Han Solo,s death in the force awakens. Luke's death overall reminded me of Twilight eclipse where the final fight scene never happened just like another big slap in the face to the audience.

Also the humour in this film is very awkward forced and often like a parody of itself often deflating emotional or intense scenes it tries to build. It feels like watching a rejected Saturday Night Live sketch. But the funniest scene was totally unintentional as we witness layers ship getting blown up. Not only did she not have one scratch on her after the incident, but she did a Mary Poppins through space at that point I honestly thought Disney is trolling Star Wars.

like the force awakens there is a gross amount of product placement in this film. The most obvious examples of this is that the end of the movie where the camera focuses in on a child holding a resistance ring. As the camera got closer to this child the John Williams music got more and more dramatic, I wondered is this child supposed to be relevant to the story. Like the son of Luke or Obi-Wan or generally someone special. But he turned out just to be a regular kid and the reason they focused in on him was not to pay attention to him at all just the resistance ring he was holding in his hand. Never have I seen a film before using product placement for the climax of the movie. But then again the last Jedi is riddled with product placement from start to finish. But in honesty you could expect the sequel trilogy to put product placement and its political agenda, above anything that is relevant to a story

Also the cuts between Emo Ren and Mary Sue were beyond cringe worthy. But it was Snoke's plan to bring them together so he could turn Ray. and for the first time the film gets exciting as you watch Ray get overpowered for the first time. But then all the mystery and speculation about the only interesting character gets thrown out the window as Emo Ren kills him by turning on a conveniently placed light sabre. Considering Snoke's age I think it's a very important question who he is, throwing him out the window like that is obviously terrible writing.

Also the portrayal of Yoda in the film is terrible first the puppet looks ridiculous and his face looks squashed in. But worse than all of that was when fake Yoda says "Page turners they were not, about ancient Jedi books. Nothing like seeing a beloved Star Wars character passionate about the force piss on his own religion. In fact the sequel trilogy pisses on the whole concept of Star Wars, and turns once beloved characters into impostors

Every mystery built up in this film has a weak conclusion or no conclusion at all. Just like Jar Jar Abrams mystery box theory, and his once popular TV show lost where the show is built on strong mysteries with weeks conclusions. Abrams as well as Ryan Johnson have a completely fundamental misunderstanding of Star Wars. Also Ryan Johnson ignored everything that happened in the force awakens. The star destroyer was destroyed but no mention of that in the last Jedi and the Knights of Ren are ignored. Tbh I hated the force awakens as it was a carbon copy of the original trilogy, just with a bunch of terrible actors and terrible writing. But The last Jedi takes the cake as the worst film I've ever seen period.

But I'm surprised most people didn't notice the sequel trilogy as SJW propaganda even in the force awakens when Ray was on the ground and there are explosions all around her, Finn takes her hand to rescue her as she is falling behind. And Ray randomly and ungratefully lashes out at him shouting don't hold my hand. If Disney wants to present us with strong female character having her say this kind of thing does the opposite affect. And in actual fact making her come across insecure about receiving help from a man. And I can't help but think to myself that Disney has a huge problem with male masculinity. In which if it was Finn falling behind and Ray grabbed his hand to rescue him and he lashed out at her saying don't hold my hand. I would think Ray would look at him like some sort of nut job. Because that's the way I saw ray in that scene.

I think what happened to Star Wars was a terrible thing and I think if Disney wanted to create a politically motivated agenda in disguise as a family film, they should've picked something other than Star Wars they should've created their own crap movie not corrupt a once beloved franchise.

I see you've changed your Slogan it used to be Raylow right? like Kylo Ren and Ray. Whatever made you want to change it hopefully it wasn't something I said

The day Star Wars died. We all have our own opinions but let's bravely look at the facts together no matter how hard it is to look. But This video shows you Star Wars is truly dead and Mark Hamill knows it more than anybody. It's a heartbreaking video that shows that Disney is poison and it's latest victim is Star Wars. Let us all take a moment and remember what we lost.

Well, If you splice together all of Hamill's interviews and cherry pick moments in them, while also playing Johnny Cash's "Hurt" in the background then yes, it's very sad. Very sad that you can't understand why TLJ is great and can fall hook line a sinker for a YouTube video. SMH...

Ha! That wont play for me for some reason so I need to know if Mark Hamill cries like Sylvester Stallone in Rambo True Blood, Patrick. That was pretty impressive, I thought.

OMG! I just recaptured my youth and my current life in that video. I didn't realize it after seeing the movie, but Luke's life is just like mine (albeit, mine's not been quite as exciting or adventurous). I was once hopeful and optimistic and never thought of quitting (and was good lookin')... now I'm angry, hopeless, want to give up and just want to be left alone (and I'm haggard and tired looking!)

It happens to the best of us as they say youth is always wasted on the young. Such a sad video though.

Lost all my faith in rotten tomatoes as they have given a Great film such as 1982 blade Runner 90% and the last Jedi currently stands at 91% by the critics. Either crooked Disney paid them off or rotten has been hijacked by a bunch of five-year-olds either way I'm not impressed.

Funny how the guy in this video rather than pointing out statistics and facts of groups of people who liked the last Jedi. He has to resort to mentioning five people he knows and saying they apparently liked the movie so we just have to take his word on it. Congratulations Cynema De berg for bringing the dumb side of YouTube to this debate. No seriously keep up the good work
