I randomly found this on Criterion and decided to give it a watch. What a film!

Weird, absurd, chaotic and surprisingly funny. I have no idea why this entertained me this much but aside from a lull in the second act it just keeps on giving. The third act devolves into a crazy, almost cartoonish mess which makes the entire thing all the more appealing.

Special mention to Elliott Gould who sometimes just by being there and staring blankly into space, conveys the mixture of desperation and confusion that the film itself seems to want you to experience.

Has anybody seen this?

The trick is not minding
Not yet but it’s been on my watch list for almost 20 years. It’s one of those films I read about and forgot about over time.
I see it dela I f this month so I guess it’s a good time to finally watch it

The full movie is on youtube for anyone that doesn't have Criterion.

Yes, I watched it.
“What’s your pleasure, young fella?”

A little slow and tiresome at parts but some pretty incredible moments. Was funny in ways that feel way ahead of its time. Alan Arkin’s monologue is absolutely insane. Vincent Gardenia was making me laugh pretty much whenever he was on screen.
