Movie Studios and Directors

Justice League has really got me thinking about this question. Why do the movie studios get involved so much?. Justice League is a huge hit now, so why did WB change so much of it originally?. And how often could we actually have a better film if studios would just back off and leave the director to do his thing. I just read an article from 2 weeks ago that said WB had just watched Justice League and still didn’t like it .... erm, really?. Very strange.
