Standing in the Sunlight, Laughing
I find it amazing that this is the first I've heard of some of these.
Am I not on mofo daily?
Am I not sitting in Hollywood, withing sprinting distance of at least two studios?

Anyway: Zhang Ziyi! Yay!!!

Best picture: Good Night and Good Luck

Musical/Comedy: Walk the Line

Best Director: Peter Jackson

Actor/Drama: David Strathairn

Actor/Musical or Comedy: Joaquin Phoenix

Actress/Drama: Felicity Huffman

Actress/Musical or Comedy: Judi Dench

Supporting Actor: George Clooney

Supporting Actress: Shirley MacLaine

... Two pleasant surprises for me, Mario Bello for best actress (I've been saying how good she was in History of Violence) and Michelle Williams for Brokeback Mountain (my favorite Dawson's Creek alum.)

One disappointment: nothing for Shopgirl. Claire Danes deserved a nod.

As you can see I'm a big supporter of Brokeback Mountain. We'll see what transpires.

I find it interesting that "Munich" was not in the list of "Best Picture" nominees. I haven't seen it yet ... or maybe it's political and too controversial ...

Put me in your pocket...
I'm a little surprized no one has posted anything yet on the Golden Globes. Did anyone else watch it?

I loved Steve Carell's speech.

I didn't really watch as much as I just listened when I could... and I must have missed Carell's speech...

Put me in your pocket...
Thanks for taking the time to post the winners Sammy....and to Lance for creating this in the first place.

Caity...Steve Carell read a speech that supposedly his wife wrote for him because he was too busy to come up with one. The way he delivered it was pretty funny. In his speech he thanked his wife at least four different times with basically acknowledging the difference she made in his life and the sacrifices she made for him...and ended with something to the tune of "And finally, to the love of my life...". Smart man.

Reese Witherspoon was a doll too.

.....

Susan...I know what you mean. Some things were disappointing. I started popping back and forth between the Golden Globes and the Lincoln documentary on the History channel. After awhile my watching the GG's grew less and less and I grew more interested in Abe and lingered longer with him.

Does anybody know who/what movie has the most "Best Picture" film festival awards??? If not, how would we find out???

Someone needs their fill.
Very happy that Lost took the globe for best TV Drama.
