This movie came out a couple of years ago. It's loosely about a kid(girl?) who was in a city in Japan that was ravaged by a large monster but now she lives in I think Pennsylvania as an adult but she finds she can transport herself back in time by standing in a special spot in a park near her home.Maybe to rectify the situation in Japan and the monster? Does that ring a bell with anyone?

A large monster attacks Japan, but dies suddenly. While the people rejoice and bask in relief, the giant corpse left behind begins to slowly rot and bloat. If it explodes, the nation will be destroyed.
