See that's why it was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and won Best Original Screenplay at last year's Oscars.

I saw Notre Musique. Honestly, it was a huge disappointment.

Some good ideas lurking in this mess, but other than the opening minutes of the film which is a montage the whole project is a waste of time. There are some great lines here and there, and if nothing else seeing post-war Serbia is interesting from a sociological perspective, but it couldn't be more muddled and less dynamic if Godard tried (was that the point? is there a point?). It's kind of a mix between narrative and documentary, and that's a tough trick to pull off. Godard don't come close. If he had the exact same subject matter but had chosen one format or the other, Notre Musique might have had some value. As is, it's pretty damn useless.

This is for hard-core Godard freaks only, and even you will find little to marvel at, my friends.

Silver Bullet, I'm glad you liked Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events. Most people either overlooked or criticized this movie the dark whimsy of the story, set design ,great characters and brilliant acting by Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep made this the one of best children's movies of the year. Although it seems unfair to call it that as it can be enjoyed by all ages. Another great thing about the movie is that the plot resolution is changed so that it is more credible than the one in the book, which seemed kind of silly and not well thought out.

I assume you've seen it by now, Holden. What did you think of it? Would it have made your list if you had seen it last year?
