Quirky mom and her bittersweet sacrifice

A somewhat eccentric, divorced mom (think funny antics, unique style, maybe a fuller figure). The daughter falls for a guy in college (I THINK it was in college), and the mom feels insecure about not fitting in with their social circle. Believing she's holding her daughter back, the mom takes drastic measures to push her away, hoping she'll have a better life with her dad. The daughter and her boyfriend stay strong and eventually get married. In a poignant moment, the daughter briefly catches a glimpse of her mom watching the wedding ceremony from afar before disappearing again.


Can you help me unravel the title of this movie, which I believe I watched about 10-15 years ago (on TV), waiting to be rediscovered?

Found the (full) movie on YouTube, but disappointingly, it's not the one I mentioned. My memory of the actors is clear, and these definitely aren't them.
