What are your favorite trailers? Film/TV only, please.

I adored the trailer for Inception that used the amazing piece of music called Mind Heist, especially the main part of the music that starts with the Leo/Avalanche shot:

I also loved the Nokia exclusive trailer that was made for The Dark Knight Rises, again I love the use of the music that was edited/mixed especially for it:

Also, wasn't really that excited about Superman: Man of Steel at first but then saw this 'Fate of your planet' trailer using part of Hans Zimmer's music score from the film and it got me interested:

The X-Files: Fight The Future is one I watched over and over when the film was coming out(I was obsessed with the series at the time), it uses one of my favourite pieces of music score from Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet and liked how they edited it alongside the dramatic choir part near the end:

Since you said television:

There is a British soap here called Eastenders and the latest trailer that the BBC made for the latest storyline that is running at the moment is brilliant:

1.) Casino

2.) Goodfellas

3.) Munich

4.) The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

5.) The Long Good Friday

6.) Nixon

7.) In the Loop

8.) Zodiac

9.) Animal Kingdom

10.) For a Few Dollars More

11.) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I can't find it online, but there was an Episode I teaser that was less than a minute long and had no dialog. It was filled with all the broken promises of the film and I watched it about 50 times when it hit the internet.

I'll post two trailers that aren't really special, but they succeeded in really selling the film.

Both of those trailers told you exactly what type of film you were going to get without giving a ton away about the story and they were both comedies that didn't reveal all the jokes in the trailers. Guardians does one of my favorite things, it has footage not found in the film that plays it more like a short film than a trailer.

There will be Blood also had a really good full trailer.

The Prometheus trailer was exceptional. Might be the best I've ever seen. I'm certainly having trouble thinking of a better one off the top of my head.

Aaah, excellent, I have a couple..

Bear in mind though I like bad movies, so whilst I find these particularly insane / amusing, not sure if anyone else will :P

Psychomania:

A rather camp film where immortality can be achieved if you kill yourself and really want to die. Hence, a bunch of posh bikers devise elaborate suicide methods and become undead and then terrorise shopping centres by knocking over tins and slapping milf's botties. (our review here: http://www.gashfilms.com/filmreviews/psychomania/)

The Thing With 2 Heads

Also this one should be posted because the story is absolutely and absurdly insane. Its a legit film, and isn't a comedy. I have no idea why anyone thought it would be a good idea to make a film based on the premise of putting a white racists head on the body of a black man and watching them co-exist,, but somehow, it got made.

Master of My Domain
Agree, a lot of trailers show only the fun parts in the movie, thus decieving us to see a boring and bland movie.

An example is the Watchmen trailer. One of the best I've ever seen but unfotunatley the actual film wasn't as epic.

Okay, I'll put it out there. I love the The Lion King trailer, the 3D re-release one Thought they did a really good jobv of capturing the essense of the movie without giving away the story to any kids who haven't seen it yet. And it made me go watch it in a cinema.
