it depends on the picture, program you use and how good you are at using it. I use Adobe 6.0 but ive never tried movie posters

They are all (apparently) photoshopped.... the place i got them is very into using this to manipulate various images.... it seem to be there rule of thumb, so much so there are whole sections of the site dedicated to 'shopped' images (comedy goldmine & photoshop phriday being the 2 most popular).
