And here are the ones Toose has never heard of. Am I clueless?

BEST IN SHOW (2000)--> quirky observational comedy about an array of couples etc. taking part in a dog show (they're all dog owners). decent, not spectacular, directed by chrisopher guest.

CRUMB (1994)-->biographical film about underground comics wonderkind, r. crumb (fritz the cat, mr. natural, zap comics, etcetera), directed by terry zwiggoff, who also did 'ghost world'. i think david lynch produced it or something also.

EAT DRINK MAN WOMAN (1994)-->directed by ang lee (crouching tiger hidden dragon, the wedding banquet). very excellent family drama/comedy about the unmarried daughters of a famous (i think it takes place in hong kong, cant remember though) chef.

ELECTION (1999?)-->mathew broderick, reese witherspoon star in a timely (always wanted to say that about a film) black comedy about a high school election. very funny.

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER (1993)-->daniel day louis is wrongly imprissoned along with his father for his coerced confession to an ira bombing. saw this one in theater, i was 13, liked it at the time, but not sure how it would stack up to my tastes and somewhat better grasp of the issues it addresses today.

OUT OF SIGHT-->directed by stephen soderberg (i think 1998), that's all i know about it.

the others i havent seen.
