Te rape scene was purely nasty an unessecary, the child pedophilia references and scenes even made this movie banned in sevral countries. You didn't find it disgusting?

I think pedophiles are disgusting, but I think the movie puts a very accurate, painful and human face on a dark, disturbing and unfortunately all too common issue. Yes, it's not an easy watch, but I don't believe it went too far or was gratuitous. To shy away from anything would make less of an emotional impact and wouldn't be as honest to the victims.

See I didn't feel an emotional impact. Especially with Gordin levites character, I think it got two explicit, goin in detail of the sextual activities happened and showing flash backs is a bit far IMO

I'm not to comfortable with torture, especially the little torture porn section of "horror". But Mystierious Skin used pedophilia and rape to shock, and not to adress. I don't feel comfortable watching something that some governments have said, will be material for pedophiles.

That's fair enough, I just thought I'd raise the point. I wouldn't put your faith in governments, though. Especially when it comes to 'decency' or 'obscenity'. Which governments, btw?

I found it emotionally tough and uncomfortable.Disgusting?I think you haven't seen really disgusting movies.
Mysterious Skin uses profanity to improve its idea and emotional depth. This movie creates a sad atmosphere right from the start and the end scenes just accomplish everything and gives viewers a really tough but realistic story.Even better thing is that it shows the problem (pedophilia) from two different viewpoints at the same time. And both tragic. It is not "wrapped in cotton wool" and this is what makes it stand out from other films. For me the disgust level was perfect - not too harsh and not too soft.
Of course it's all a matter of taste but there are tons of really disgusting movies where the show of disgust is just pointless.

95.Disturbia

For some movies I can't give a reason why I like them. They were just interesting or entertaining to watch.Disturbia is one of such movies.

It is an unofficial remake of Hitchcock's "Rear Window" and since "Rear Window" is one of my favorite Hitchcock films, maybe I just like that idea about stalking neighbors.

Another reason why I liked it was probably because I didn't have any expectations.I just caught it on TV (just when it started),the beginning was interesting and it became more and more intriguing towards the end.Of course,it is not as masterful as Rear Window but this movie doesn't even try to top it.It just gives more modernism into the story.

It's a fun watch of a movie. It's in my top 100 favorites as well. The concept is good like you said, even if it is a "Rear Window" remake.

I think Dosturbia is underrated, wouldn't make my
Top 100, but I enjoyed it. Not even comparable to Rear window though

My bad, I checked and it was almost banned in Australia on a 4-2 vote

Australia, where the Australian Family Association requested a review of its classification, seeking to have the film outlawed due to its depiction of pedophilia. They suggested that the film could be used by pedophiles for sexual gratification or to help them groom children for sexual abuse. The six-member Classification Review Board voted four-to-two in favour of maintaining an R18+ rating.

It was Australia and the reasoning was the fear that pedophiles could use the movie as a tool to groom young children into being victims. I could go on with the futility of that decision but this is Gabrielle's thread.

On to Disturbia. First movie I'm not in love with. It was o.k. I didn't hate it but I'll probably never watch it again.

94. Spun

Some time ago,I really loved this movie. Now I've seen more great films which were better but this one still sticks in my mind. This movie talks about meth and it was directed by Jonas Åkerlund who specializes in music videos and documentaries. So this is a fact-paced and quick movie.

So of course,it is not like Trainspotting or Requiem For A Dream. It's not a drama. It will not preach. But I don't that it's a comedy, too. One famous poet from my country once said that art can't preach. He also mentioned that true artist must have unique ideas and that art has to created aesthetic values. And Spun is not a clever movie, but it is stylish.

This film is not liked by critics and it is not liked by audiences. What I liked about it was the performances and the whole scene setting(also the decorations, make up,clothing).Brittany Murphy was great as Nikki.Mena Suvari did good too and overall I think she has potential.

Would I recommend it?Well,I would but I can't promise that you will like it.

93. Ocean's Eleven

If you're a crime films fan,I believe that you will like this movie. It's not very smart and it's not a drama and it doesn't have acting like in The Godfather. But it's a great fun and entertainment.

Basically,I liked Ocean's sequels, too (I find it strange when people like only one movie out of all franchise, aren't they quite similar?) and I included only the first one in my list but I want you to know that I liked all the Ocean trilogy, more or less.

92. The Ring

This was probably my first horror movie and it really was scary the first time but, despite this,I really wanted to know how it ends. Now since I've seen it about 3-4 times I know where the scary places are and I can really enjoy it now.

Not a masterpiece, not full of logic but entertaining and intriguing.

The Ring is awesome. To be honest, I like it more than the original, Ringu. It's in my top 100 as well, though probably closer to 50 than 100.

I haven't seen the original but I don't intend to,I'm not a fan of scary movies.

91. Charlie's Angels

As a girl, who likes crime, gangster and espionage films, how could I dislike three tough sexy girls who saves the world? I loved Charlie's Angels when I was little,I still love it now.

I love this movie, but it is definitely one of those movies that's not for everybody and you will either love it or hate it, their is no middle ground here.
