Sterling cast, but appallingly bad.

Trouble with a capital "T"
The Last Full Measure

I hadn't heard of this before, I enjoy a good war flick...Can you tell me in what way wasn't it believable? I'm guessing maybe it was more like a superhero action flick? Or cartoon like?

I wasn’t convinced they were in Vietnam engaged in a guerilla war. I didn’t believe in the characters, which is always the kiss of death for me.

Incendies did put me to sleep even if I like Villenueve, with that confused timeline and no subtitles

Dune directed by David Lynch

Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King

Holy Motors

I hear ya, that would blow it for me too. Thanks

I watched Incendies, I'm almost positive I seen subtitles. Must have been because of where or how you watched it?

Don’t go by me. See what IMDb reviews are first. You might like it.

You seen it on Netflix, right? I don't have Netflix right now, but will have it after The Crown wraps up...That way I can binge watch The Crown. Last time I had Netflix I had a real hard time finding anything I wanted to watch, so mostly I just wasted my subscription. I might still check out that Vietnam film but I don't have hopes for it.

I don't remember if you have seen the Ken Burns documentary on Vietnam?

I streamed it, and couldn’t hear or understand anything about the plot.

One time they’re taking to a lawyer (?) and then someone get killed and then someone is talking with other people going into a bus where they get kidnapped or killed etc

I don't like the film and I doubt I’ll give it another watch for years. Seemed very confusing and couldn’t understand any of the dialogues.

Blu ray not being released doesn’t help too.

I see, no subs would be a hard watch. I liked the movie but yup it was confusing.

I never stay in Netflix streaming for more than a month, but I’ve had the dvd plan for years & that’s how I saw the movie.

Yes, I’ve seen Burns on Vietnam.

Btw, never ever liked The Crown. Just don’t believe in any of the character portrayals though I’ve tried.

For all intents and purposes, I should have loved the Dick Tracy movie - based on a comic, innovative use of colors that tried to bring the look of strip comics to life, awesome prosthetic make-up for the villains, the villains!, an astounding cast of celebrity cameos, and Danny Elfman music!

Yet, I don't know (maybe I'm just not a big fan of Warren Beatty or Madonna) but I also always had problems getting through it.

I tried watching cuties because of all the hubbub, but I just couldn't. Not because of the usual stuff about kiddie porn, but because it was essentially a bunch of 12 year old girls acting like 12 year old girls.

I couldn't stand them when I was 12, and age hasn't improved my appreciation any.

Avatar - 3 times started looking and couldn't watch it three times .. I don't know why, maybe the dialogues are tiresome

ATROCIOUS! Totally the fault of the clueless director. The performances of the entire cast needed taking down several notches.

Even Anya Taylor-Joy & Mia Goth couldn’t save this hot mess.

Yeah, it's funny, I finally pulled the trigger on this after, what, 30 years, because I felt like it kinda should be just my bag, the kinda thing a lotta people don't like but I do. But as I watched it I remembered why I didn't go see it in theaters when it came out and didn't rent it from Blockbuster. Because it looked like it was trying to be the kinda thing I'd like... but was almost exactly off the mark despite probably tryin' too hard. Which is a bad combination.
This feeling was not dispelled by the first half hour or so of the film when I finally tried to watch it.

I admired what they tried to do visually (with the primary colors and all), but for some reason it just didn't work (at least for me).

I'm wondering if it would have been a better film if they just played it straight - still have all the weird and flamboyant villains (you couldn't really do Dick Tracy right without them since his "rogue's gallery" was what made his strip unique - and which would be copied by various types of comic heroes afterward) - but put them into a realistic, yet era-appropriate, setting.

I have to respect Terrence Malick’s “vision” for this movie, but to make a movie with a German/Austrian cast set in Germany/Austria & have them speak English was a dealbreaker for me. At first I thought the movie was dubbed (ugh), but then realized that it wasn’t.

I’m sure it’s a terrific movie, but I couldn’t get past this language detail.

I still have a migraine from listening & watching Sandler imitate Pacino on crack.

Such a strange movie that The NY Times raved about, but which got horrible IMDb reviews.
