Help Me Decide on a New Laptop Computer

RIP www.moviejustice.com 2002-2010
I currently use an ASUS K501U light aluminum frame laptop computer with an Nvidia GTX 960m graphics card. I bought this computer around September of 2016 and it's time for an upgrade.

It still works beautifully and I love it and I'm not a power user by any means, but security and upgrades with Windows 10 are going to stop in October, so this summer it's on my to-do list to get a new computer.

I do prefer the durability of aluminum body frames and wants something that will be long-lasting as I've had this ASUS computer for nine years almost now, but because I do my banking and investing on my laptop, I'm not going to risk doing that on a computer that is no longer supported by Microsoft and updates.

My wife has an Apple Macbook, which she loves, only she's had some issues moving items from her phone to her computer. Also it's very limited on ports, but I know there are USB adapters to plug in to them.

As far as Windows vs Apple goes, I'm slightly leaning more toward Windows, but I don't know if Windows 11 is as great an reliable as Windows 10. First and foremost I want to get a computer that I will have, use, and run flawlessly for at least five years.

I do play Starcraft 2, but outside of that most of my gaming is done on my XBOX Series X. I do listen to Spotify and occasionally watch movies on the laptop. So while I'm not doing any serious gaming on the machine, I do multi-task and tend to have multiple programs going at once.

I'm leaning toward an ASUS ROG Zephyrus 16 if I go with Windows and a Macbook Pro if I go with Apple. Even though I'm not a die hard gamer on the computer, one of my non-negotiables is a separate CPU and GPU as it seems like computers with integrated processors and graphics tend to have issues or at least be a bit quirky and weird in their functioning. Also dual fans or at least a computer that has a solid cooling system is a must too.

Looking for about 1TB of memory, so average, nothing too crazy. I may get into video editing into the future if I decide to do youtube in any dedicated and serious fashion. Looking to be in that $1,500 - sub $2,000 price point.
