Yesterday, the oldest director in activity died. He was 106 years and he was making films since 1931.
He never stop working in spite of living in a country where the Government doesn't care at all for cinema and where the average attendance to national films premieres is of 6... Not 6 hundred, not 6 dozens... 6 people.
He was a symbol of Portuguese cinema, art and culture and a personal hero for every artist in the country.
