The 80's was also the decade that produced and revolutionized the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack albums - compilations of original pop and/or rock songs that were written, produced, and/or performed by popular artists and bands of the time specifically for the movies in which they were featured. Note: Soundtracks were disqualified if they were compilations of strictly older songs (from the 50's or 60's) -such as the Stand By Me soundtrack. With the exception of a couple of the bonus tracks, I only know one song on the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. It's OMD's "If You Leave", and I like it.

The Dirty Dancing soundtrack is great. I know a bunch of songs from that one, but my favorite is "She's Like The Wind" by Patrick Swayze.

Never cared for Dirty Dancing the movie, but the soundtrack was great.
Batman, Fast Times and Lost Boys are just legendary. The movies and the soundtracks. Breakfast Club one was good but I everytime I hear that Simple Minds song, I can't get it out of my head for days. |
