Pierrot le Fou was my first Godard, and it's another favorite of mine, though I was a bit baffled when I initially saw it. It's similar to Breathless but it's more political and cartoonish in style. Vivre sa Vie was the film that convinced me to revisit Breathless, probably because both films evoke Paris so beautifully.

That's very interesting. I have Pierrot le Fou and Vivre sa Vie lined up to watch soon so maybe I'll have a similar experience, but for now my opinion is very similar to your first reaction - enjoyable, but much easier to admire than to love.

Seeing more Godard caused me to appreciate his style a lot more. I watched Band of Outsiders and Vivre sa Vie shortly after, and felt the need to revisit Breathless. I bought the Criterion DVD and found it to be one of the most original -and fun- crime movies ever. Also, it makes me want to go to Paris. For me, Godard was definitely an acquired taste. What did you think of it?

Hey. What made you change your mind about Breathless? I was looking around for reaction after seeing it in my European Cinema class today and noticed you gave it 4/5 in your original review in the Movie Tab but it's now in your top 10.
