From a decent battle of the war movies thread, i wasnt satisfied with the number of people who responded. Hopefully with a range of all kinds of films, from action,comedy,horror, cartoon. We will have this battle go on for a while.

RULES. This will be different from Battle of War Films.
2 will face each other , Then the winner with the most votes advances to the next battle facing the next movie. Like a boxing match, always a new challenger. It will be as if it s The Last Movie Standing.

All you do is pick the better of the 2. they will be different genres.

Very, very hard decision. Both of these gangster films are great but I'm going with The Godfather II. It concentrates more on fiction events that took place in the early 1900's. Goodfellas was more in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. I prefer movies that took place in Al Capone's time.

You may be right my froid (I heard that somewhere) but like you said, (and so did I), I haven't seen it. So until I do, I don't want it to win, because any movie I haven't seen is stupid, MUAHAHAHAHA! Even if I had seen Godfather Part II I would still vote for Cookoo's Nest or Star Wars. Not saying Godfather isn't great, which from everybody's response I have no doubt that it is, Star Wars and Cookoo's Nest would still probably be better in my opinion.

George Lucas' SW is truly one of a kind, and The Godfather II cannot top it (except for Empire Strikes Back). :p

I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey and I have to say that I would've voted for it in the battles it was featured in. All I can say is Kubrick is a genious. I loved A Clockwork Orange and The Shining, but 2001 is my favorite picture from him. I also rented Full Metal Jacket , so hopefully that will be another Kubrick classic for me to buy.

Oh gosh this is tough. Jurrasic Park is simply stunning, and Pulp Fiction just kicks butt by itself. I know it probably won't win but I'm votng for Jurrasic Park. No, Pulp Fiction. . .ugh, well yeah Pulp Fiction.

Jurrasic Park got a real big "WOW!!!" from me when I first saw it, but depended too much on its special effects that don't feel that fresh today. Pulp Fiction, however, is a film I can watch over and over (even if it's not better than Godfather Part II ;) ). So... Pulp Fiction it is.

Well... if you are talking about Pulp Fiction, then the movie has already tied up with The Godfather II. So both films gave some great performances in each of their matches. But I really think it's time for Pulp Fiction to give it a break. I really don't want to see The Godfather II get beat.
