View Full Version : Top 53 Music Artists Countdown
Velvet Underground were my #1. was very hard for me to pick a number one because my music taste changes much more often than my movie or tv taste but i've regularly revisted them since my teens and they seem to get better every time. Shoutout to Nico as well, she may be a horrible nazi but she was insanely talented and her solo stuff is great too.

-High Tide or Low Tide
-Pimper's Paradise
-Gonna Get You
-Waiting In Vain
-Reggae on Broadway
and about 90 more!

Aerosmith would've probably made my list had it been a top 25. I've even seen them in concert. Great show, aside from the horrid opening act - Hinder.
Never really listened to Talking Heads.
Bjork was my #6. Her music was a huge part of my life when I was going through my mental stuff.
I know I had Louis Armstrong, Kinks and Chuck Berry, and that I was the only one for each.. I also had the Who and CCR. Hell, I could have put a crapload of more recent artists, but I tried to put the ones I thought had the best songs.

Saw Bjork at Radio City Music Hall back in 2007. Sucky show. She rode her 10 speed bike there. We saw her around 5pm, mid Summer, drinking at the nearest pub. She was very full of herself, so much so - that she didn't bother an encore. She played a 50 min set and left. Ripoff. I did enjoy some of her recordings, tho.

AccesSible prog rock...But then again, in the 1970's, progressive was relative..everything was kind of progressive...nowadays, or back then rather, we'd just call it music with brains..
modulation...not afraid to wear it on the sleeve...interesting chorD changes...raw vocal harmonies....wurlitzers....AKA=good music.
Get off my lawn you little bitch!!

That's to bad. They aren't in my Top 10, but used to I was listening to them all the time.
Wow Coldplay didn't make the list. I thought they were reasonably well liked and I probably would've expected them to appear on the list
They are absurdly disliked. Like i mean i'm not a fan but people ridiculously exaggerate how bad they are IMO. They have a few good songs.
My votes:
1. Hey (polish band)
2. U2
3. Coma (polish band)
4. Happysad (polish band)
5. Krzysztof Zalewski (polish singer)
6. Genesis
7. Perfect Circle

Good work doing the list Camo x
Yeah i'm not a fan of Journey, my only problem is i think this list was way too dad rock for anyone to honestly complain about Journey.
In Marilyn Manson's autobiography, he says you're gay if you like The Smiths.
Cool
So technically there were two NSP votes. Still not enough to make the Countdown anyway though.
Hashtag never had Ninja Sex Party. Not sure what he's talking about.

Really, though?
I mean, I can see if they sold out to easy peasy on-stage samplers..but they still kick it old school..even though now their music is definitely less hungry than Colour and the Shape days...

Much, much different than the "hits" - but I liked some of that stuff, too.

Sorry to interrupt, but "Cannonaball"...that's what happens when you lose Hodgkins..."WHa Hoppen?"
That's why I saw Hodgson three times... Supertramp never came near me, anyway, and I don't wanna hear another guy sing those songs...
The only great songs were done BEFORE he left the band... The title-track (which was extended) and the song "Better Days".
What happened was music videos, and they weren't a band with sex appeal... AND losing your main writer/vocalist/guitarist/keyboards (even bass the first album).
That saying, I think Rick wrote some of the best Supertramp songs...
-Crime of the Century
-Rudy
-Just A Normal Day
-Waiting So Long
-From Now On
-Another Man's Woman
The hit he wrote was because he tried sounding like Roger, with "Goodbye Stranger".... Conversely, they each play their best solos with the other guys' song.
Before Perry joined... Here's one song..
"Of A Lifetime"
