While MoFo is usually a pretty calm and inviting place, its threads are not without controversy and its membership is not without its deviants that just can’t resist pressing buttons and stirring the pot.

There’s the guy who exists on this forum only to post politically charged threads and spout his own twisted theories (Seriously, does this guy even watch movies?). And the drama queen who just can’t keep his nose out of everybody else’s business and gets involved in fights that have nothing to do with him (yet the place would be pretty boring without him). Then there’s the arrogant anime and arthouse obsessed Brazilian who left the forum in a storm of insults only to come back as a much more productive member. And there’s the self labeled Slob who maybe drinks a little too much, shares a little too much about his um… bowel habits (among other things), and has been put on official time out, shall we say, a time or two. But in spite (or maybe because) of all that, we love them anyway. Or, at least, we love to hate them.

I'm genuinely happy and excited about this, I can't hide it, thank you all!

For someone who is passionate about writing, not just reviews but in general, this is amazing to receive. I also knew that I would never get a chance to win it another time, given my life has become so busy. 2015 I had a lot of time to really evolve and improve and push myself to contantly do better. And I wanted to always do better than the last.

Thank you to all who voted for me, I'm glad you enjoyed what you have read throughout the year. Also a huge congrats to the other nominees, who was after all still nominated because they were tough contestants as well for this award. I read some great reviews this year myself too.

I went to take a piss and missed two awards.

Congrats to mark, definitely deserves that one. The number of movies he watches is unmatchable, the knowledge is also huge - not only for what you see on screen but also about the time it was produced and what happened behind the scenes. Dude knows everything. Mark the Master of Movies... It does sound fitting.

Well, Yoda can take that award with him to the grave... But not yet, we all love to come to this awesome place created by the one and only, Yoda, and want it to go on forever. Congrats to someone who definitely deserved it, though I feel all in that category could have taken it home...

HOLY CRAP!!!

I so regret not being able to catch this in time! I was not expecting at all to win Best New MoFie, and when I saw that I did I genuinely flipped out!

A BIG thanks to everyone that voted for me, I appreciate it more than you all know. Arguably the biggest thanks goes to MovieMeditation for his wonderful presentation, I loved his review of me (not like that... get your mind out of the gutter! :p )

WORST THREAD

I am probably not the ideal person to be presenting this award because my definition of what constitutes the "worst" is clearly on a different level to many other users. That being said, I've been looking over the three nominees for the Worst Thread and I must say that they all have very strong claims to the throne. One thread sees a spirited discussion germinate over the state of contemporary music, another takes a turn for the coldly scientific by examining the specifics regarding a high-profile celebrity, and then there's a thread dedicated to resolving conflicts that spring up due to this site's focus on playing games. These threads range from amusing to irritating to aggressively uninteresting, and trying to read them all so as to decide what to vote for gave me a headache. Now it comes to the moment where we find out which one grants the biggest headache of all...

(p.s. The Gray Area is the most boring thread I've ever forced myself to read on this site to the point where I'm not even glad that it won)

OVERACHIEVER

To be considered an over-achiever on MovieForums is not an easy thing. You have to show serious dedication to every aspect of the forum. It's not enough to simply become the most prolific reviewer on the site in less than a year. Games, tournaments, halls of fame, reviews, the Shoutbox...these and many more are the arenas where users do battle for this most passive-aggressive of platitudes. Our contenders spread themselves thin over a variety of possible outlets and will do anything from create heavily formatted joke threads to write some of the lengthiest reviews on this whole site. The fact that they go above and beyond what is typically expected of a user is something to be feared and respected...
