Tropic Thunder

The movie that redefined the "mockumentary" and brought it to a brilliant and hysterical level, a testament to the genius that is Ben Stiller...yeah, I said it...Stiller's work as the creator of this film is genius.
yessssss I love Tropic Thunder (It's actually in my top 50 movies lol)

Superman II

One of those very rare occasions where a sequel was better than the original.
Love this one though I never could get into the Donner cut. It's far from perfect but I'll takes Lester's version any day.

I must confess I have never seen The Goonies.

The Goonies was one of my favorite movies when I was younger, but I haven't seen it in years, and I'm not sure that it would be as good now that I'm older. It kind of has the feeling of a kid's adventure movie.

But having said that, I still highly recommend that you see it. It's still a great adventure movie.

BTW, the picture for Robocop isn't showing.

The Goonies was one of my favourites as a kid also it's right up there with my most watched films. Sadly though it didn't hold up for me last time, I swear every single character was now very annoying, I only ended up finishing it because I was watching with my niece.

Die Hard with a Vengeance

John McClain rocks our world again with assistance from Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Irons.
The best Die Hard.

I guess I'm going to have to put this list on hold until I watch The Goonies.

OK, I've watched The Goonies and enjoyed it, but I don't see inserting it in this list at this point...if I had it seen it before I began, I might have put it somewhere in the 50's or 60's, but I can't see putting it in at this point and will list it as my first honorable mention.

36.
Lethal Weapon 4

The second and third film were standard stuff IMO but this one was a keeper, primarily due to the presence of Jet Li as one of the most indestructible villains in cinema history.

34.
The Dirty Dozen

A classic from the 1960's with an awesome cast that is still a grand action/adventure. Lee Marvin and John Casavettes do standout work in an impressive all-star cast. First saw this film at the drive-in when I was a kid and still love it.

33.
The Towering Inferno

Chuckle if you will, but this movie about a burning skyscraper and the work of an architect (Paul Newman) and a fire chief (Steve McQueen) to get as many people out safely as they can, is a lot of fun and has enormous re-watch appeal.

32.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Some may not consider this film an action/adventure, but it has plenty of both...director Stanley Kramer created a classic chase comedy that features just about every working comic actor who was around circa 1961, in either featured or bit roles, but I still think the best performance in the film comes from Broadway icon Ethel Merman as the mother-in-law from hell.

31.
Payback

Mel Gibson appears to be having a ball here as a former mafioso, believed to be dead, who is letting nothing stand in the way of getting back the $70,000 that was taken from him many years ago. This action film has a wonderfully noir-ish feel to it and Gibson is backed by a first rate cast including James Coburn, William Devane, Kris Kristofferson, and Gregg Henry, not to mention a sexy turn from my girl Lucy Lieu.

29.
Jackie Brown

Quentin Tarantino proved again to be a master of storytelling on film with this riveting epic about an aging stewardess (Pam Grier) trying to get out from under the thumb of a nasty weapons dealer (Samuel L. Jackson). Tarantino manages to mount a classic action tale with very non-traditional storytelling techniques but they work.

28.
Ocean's Eleven

George Clooney's breezy performance and Steven Soderbergh's slick direction are the big selling points of this lavish remake of the 1960 rat pack classic. The robbery of 3 Las Vegas casinos sets up an elaborate scheme that might be overly complex, but the film is still a lot of fun. Clooney has a great cast behind him too, especially Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Julia Roberts and comedy icon Carl Reiner.

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
30.
The Princess Bride

This film is on my favorite romance film list as well, but I think it definitely deserves mention here too.

The Princess Bride is one of the greatest movies ever made. It works as a romantic comedy, and an action adventure movie, and it excels at both.
