Ok campers, you know the drill by now - Five new(ish) releases with a vote on which one you want to discuss. The poll will be up for a week.
Film choice 1: The Kite Runner (2007, Marc Forster)
Marc Forster's (Finding Neverland, Monster's Ball) tale of two Afghan boys during the Russian invasion of their country. Based on Khaled Hosseini's novel.
Film choice 2: No Country For Old Men (2007, Ethan & Joel Coen)
Not a lot needs to be said - The Coen's Oscar-laden modern Western...
Film choice 3: Shrooms (2006, Paddy Breathnach)
Quite possibly the most accurate depiction of Ireland since The Quiet Man, for the sake of balance I've included this for all the cineists out there. I don't think this is available to rent in Australia, as of yet.
Film choice 4: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007, Tim Burton)
Burton and Depp, together again. This time in in a musical based on the life of the infamous Victorian serial killer/pie manufacturer.
Film choice 5: Sleuth (2007, Ken Branagh)
Slipping in some more Irishness as we go, this is Belfast Boy Branagh's adaptation of the 1972 minor classic, itself an adaptation of Anthony Schaffer's (The Wicker Man! ) stage production. With added Pinter.
So there we have it. Everything should be easily available in Britain and The States (Sleuth is coming next month in Australia but I wanted to include it here, sorry AusFos), I'll put the poll up for one week.
Let The Public decide!
