Ouch.

I almost bought this today, because I haven't heard one person say anything negative about it. But your comment mentions my initial fear about the film, and I guess that means I'll have to give it a rent first...

Oh, I posted that in the tab when I watched it, as well. People didn't agree.

I would like to hear your opinion on the film, actually.

The only (offline) person i know who's watched it was scathing about it. But he likes to scathe

Was i wrong to enjoy Voight's totally over-the-top turn in Anaconda?

After school special? I'm not sure what that means, please explain.

Hey first post:

Napoleon Dynamite. That movie was nothing without the performance.

You know how they used to have those after-school public service announcements disguised as actual shows or movies? Most of them were funded by youth programs and organizations that wanted to get their messages out to kids in a way that might be both entertaining and educational. They'd come on around 4 or 5 in the afternoon (hence, "after school"), and they would communicate some kind of moral message using an actor-driven story about characters in related situations. So, you might see a special about an inner-city kid dealing with people trying to sell him drugs, and you'd see his older brother struggling with drug use, and his family falling apart...that kind of thing. The obvious (but never directly stated) message was, "DON'T USE DRUGS!"

Sedai was making the observation that, while Crash tells a series of separate-but-related stories, the overall message is obvious: "RACISM IS BAD." Apparently, the film feels somewhat like those after-school specials.

Natasha, I'm sorry but the movie (species) without the sexy woman context was crap
or as I refer to it Soft Porn with a script

stranger then a drunken mime
Michael Pitt in 'Gus Van Sant's Last Days'

I thought he played a very well in the performance as Kurt Cobain. He was very believable in his part, probably the only thing that kept the movie going. Overall I thought the movie was crap, but his acting was very well played for that below average movie.

I must concur. His performance was pretty good, but I thought the film was TERRIBLE.

I think Amelie... Without Tatou, it would have slowly and painfully sank.

You really thought that Jaws and Scarface were below average movies?
