From over the other side of the pond, it's looking like whatever Trump tries to do he's getting blocked. Some things were never going to happen (surely no one seriously thought that he could get Mexico to pay for a wall?) , but I just thought he'd have enough support for his healthcare reforms, after all didn't Obamacare only just make it through? His flight ban is on permanent stall isn't it? Seems he's having difficulties getting staff (except family members) . I know our two political set ups are very different but if this was a recently elected Prime Minister in the UK getting blocked like this they'd be in major trouble, and could possibly be forced out as leader of their party with a possible General Election. Could there be a point in which Trump had to stand down ? Is that even possible in your constitution?
President Trump
How can they register without their paperwork nd ID? I've never heard of this before.
Most get SS numbers
Most get SS numbers
Yeah, I'm not doubting it at all (it's happening) but my wife was scrutinized as hell when she first came here and had the hardest time getting employment because she didn't have certain cards/paperwork to permit her to work.

What policy has been proposed that has the government interfering with people obtaining birth control?
Aye, but I mention it because not liking an argument is totally different than implying it's internally inconsistent. It'd be like me responding to Democrats and maternity leave by saying "oh sure, but Democrats don't care about babies in the womb." You'd rightly point out that, rightly or wrongly, they don't share that premise.

I'm not doubting it either but wouldnt this make it so easy for someone (citizen or or even tourists and shills) to register in every state if they were so insanely inclined?
Sounds like it. They still register deceased people in some fraudulent voting so anything is possible, I guess.
Oh yeah I forgot about that rort here. My now departed father in law uncovered that.
the defunding of Planned Parenthood?
i think it's inconsistent, but... i really don't wanna get into a debate in the trump thread about abortion. it's just gonna explode and you'll have to go back and move all these posts and ahhh... too messy. makes me mad, tho

That's the kind of stuff you see in movies...hard to believe it actually happens in real life but it does.
Yeh so easy to do, too.
They sure didn't make it easy for my wife to get a SS number and she came here legally. Sheesh, our system is screwed up.

Now you are speaking my language. It is harder and much more expensive for people to come here legally than it is illegally(those SS numbers I'm talking about aren't through legal means). That's what needs to be fixed. It's not going to be fixed by walls and travel bans but it also won't be fixed by sanctuary cities and turning a blind eye to our problem. Both parties need to get their heads out of their asses and reform the system. Make it affordable and fair for people to come her legally. Not going to happen, we are too content screaming racist and felon apologist back and forth at each other.
Can't say I see how not paying for something is "telling people what to do." If anything, it's the other way: wanting government funding for something is antithetical to it being someone's own business.
and we both know they aren't trying to defund PP because they feel like it's 'none of [their] business', either, but because they don't think it should be paid for or funded with government money. which is pretty stupid, because if you don't want people to have abortions, not providing free birth control to poor people doesn't seem like a good way to make sure that doesn't happen

Now you're speaking my language as well. We paid THOUSANDS for all her immigration when you add up all the Visa, Green Card, biometrics fees and so forth. THOUSANDS. Her recent citizenship application? $700...and that's a drop in the bucket compared to all the money we already gave them.

paying for something that is necessary for some people isn't 'telling them what to do' either.

You are being disingenuous though. The PP issue is primarily about abortion. If they were giving out condoms and mammograms only, no one would be saying boo.
