Best three-film run for a director

Tools

My favorite is easy-

John Landis

Animal House (1978)
The Blues Brothers (1980)
An American Werewolf in London (1981)
Trading Places (1983)

First or last 3

You left out September and Another Woman, so it doesn't count. I like Husbands and Wives, Bullets Over Broadway and Manhattan Murder Mystery since the last two rank among my fave Woodys.
Never seen September, but I LOVED Another Woman. I also thought Manhattan Murder Mystery was brilliant.

Pete Walker
House of Whipcord
Frightmare
The Confessional

Kenji Misumi
Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengence
Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx
Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades

Mamoru Oshii
Pat Labor 2: The Movie
Ghost in the Shell
Avalon

Lukas Moodyson
Show Me Love
Together
Lilya 4-ever

Sidney Lumet: Murder on the Orient Express, Dog Day Afternoon and Network
Alfonso Cuaron: Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of Men and Gravity
Kevin Smith: Clekrs, Mallrats and Chasing Amy

But to me the best are Hitchcock Kubrick and Wilder.
Rear Window, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho
Dr Strangelove, 2001, A Clockwork Orange
Witness for the Prosecution, Some like it Hot, The Apartment

No as good, but still impressive Ben Affleck: Gone baby Gone, The Town, Argo

This might be supposed to go in the other forum but I wasn't sure which to put it in.

Basically, what do you think is the best three-film consecutive run for a single director?
I would go with The Duellists, Alien and Blade Runner for Ridley Scott.

I have to return some videotapes...
Fincher - Zodiac, Curious Case, Social Network

Nolan - Begins, Prestige, Dark Knight

Coens - Fargo, Big Lebowski, O Brother
