but u dont just cut an awesome scene like a topless chick to obtaain a rating thats unamerican
I'm sorry, but if you want to see softcore porn, go to the store that sells merchandise like that. Or are you not old enough?
If you can't look past one scene getting cut so that the film can keep the message it's trying to convey, you've got no business critiquing films based on the "rack-o-meter."
This whole thread isn't about censorship at all, rather just your problem with one movie, isn't it? When I think of censorship, I think of some radical director that is so stuck in his ways, that he has to educate the mass population on what he feels is the correct way society should be living. These items the director is probably wanting in his film probably range from subtle to blindingly obvious. Any producer who has their name on this, probably wouldn't want to be associated with a radical film such as what the director is aiming for. The producer doesn't want to rob the director of their vision, but rather stifle the direction in which he's heading by toning it down. So, the producer can either a) pull out and the director will lose all financial contributions or b) persuade the director to remove certain elements, while still conveying the message they're aiming for.
Case in point, your movie that you're so upset about. The director probably raised the "booby" quota just to appease those Paul Rueben fans in the audience who like jerkin the gerkin. The producer, whose financially invested in the film, opted for a lower rating (without ruining the story) in an effort to make a profit. It's all very understandable. If I was investing my money in something, I would want to make sure I was going to pull a return and, at the minimum, break even.
Regardless of what you may think, you have a lot of growing up to do.
