Best concert so far was U2 at Murrayfield during the Popmart tour. Brilliant concert with good backup from the Seahorses, saw U2 again a couple of months ago in Glasgow, they were still awesome, but not as good as Popmart.
Second would probably be Madonna at Madison Square Garden, a great show, and I've always wanted to go to a gig at Madison Square Gardens. The fact that a Scottish piper joined her on stage for her encore made me any my mates night, we were slightly drunk and our national pride just came over us like something out of a Jekyl and Hide movie.
Third would be Genesis at Hampden park in the 80's, although I'm not a huge fan, it was a fantastic show and my first concert. Paul Young was the support band, again another 80's icon.
Special mention to the Simple Minds concert last year, they were one of my favourite bands of the 80's, and I never saw them in concert till last year! Same goes for Duran Duran who I also saw last year, ah nostalgia, took me back to my school disco days!!!
I go to loads of concerts, my mate has his own promotions company and it's always good for freebies, just saw Basement Jaxx last month, and I have freebies for Faithless and Franz Ferdinand at the end of the month. I love going to see bands and live music at the weekends, and at the moment Glasgow is one of the most happening cities in Britain for music. I'm working on a couple of documentaries on unsigned bands at the moment, but my dream is to do an in depth documentary on Scottish music from the 60's up till modern day with the likes of Travis, Franz Ferdinand and Texas.
Watch this space!!!
