Great to see love for the last chapter, it is so underrated in my opinion.

I like the last chapter too.

Paddington (Paul King, 2014)
I think that's the first less than glowing rating/review I've seen for Paddington. Care to give some thoughts, Lines?

for The Island? I'd think it generous from most, but it seems especially so from you, mark. I've only seen it the once, but I remember it being very generic at best.

I think that's the first less than glowing rating/review I've seen for Paddington. Care to give some thoughts, Lines?
It's formulaic fluff in a nice house (but the one in Casper was even nicer and I only gave that a
). I think my rating is pretty consistent with my past ratings of funny animal/fish out of water family movies. There are a few that I like, whether because they hit me in a personal soft spot or because they're actually clever in some way. I didn't find either of those to be the case here.

The Russian The Island? What was generic about it?
My mistake. I got the years mixed up. I've not seen that version, but that makes much more sense.

As for Paddington, I've not seen it nor do I have much desire to, I was just slightly surprised as that's much lower (IIRC) than any rating I've seen for it around the site or anywhere else.

I watched quite a few but just gonna mention the ones that left me impressed

The Graduate (1967) - I never watched it because I never liked romance comedies. But films like that just prove that there's a gem in every genre. I was gladly suprised.

Marshland (2015) - went to see this at the cinema blindly, not really expecting to like it but I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend crime/detective/thriller fans to see it!! Great story and acting and there's this dark Spanish culture vibe throughout the film.

Malcolm X (1992) - does anyone like this film and can explain whats so good about it? I was looking forward to it 'cause I thought it being 3 hours long biography,it should have a great drama story. But I never felt a film run so long.
