The movie manages to impart a sense of danger, and it offers up several likable or sympathetic characters to root for so that there are emotional stakes at various points in the film.

I didn't even know what kind of film it was (the plot kinda suggested some survival horror) so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be very decent thriller / drama.
