Ryan Coogler did an amazing job with this movie, and I'm very excited to see what he does with the Black Panther film.

It's not enough to totally ruin the film but taking into account how much of it feels like it's padding out the film's rather bloated 133-minute running time (which notably makes it longer than any of the Rocky movies) definitely prevents this film from qualifying as a modern classic.
