While the film expands upon a lot of the same themes regarding human nature and technophobia that were present in the first film, it's hard to tell if it does a good job of expressing them with any more clarity, especially when the film starts getting a little too wrapped up in delivering action seq....

exciting action, though-provoking debate and spectacular visuals, the latter of which combines CGI and hand-drawn animation and looks so good that the movie might as well have come out this year rather than 2004.

Honestly, we have a lot of dialog between Batou and Kosuka which sounds really natural and serves to present these characters as actual people with lives and a mundane sense of humor, not just, you know, characters.
