Hi,
I think it's from the 80s/90s, but I'm not sure.
The main character is in a hospital, suffering from amnesia from a head injury.
In parallel, we see parts where he's seemingly leading a normal life, but the scenery changes for each part - different neighborhood, home, etc, until we realize those are his attempts to regain his memory.
He is visited by his friend, who I think is a cop. The friend seems to be very concerned for him, constantly asking the medical staff about his condition.
There's also a nurse that plays a role, but I don't remember details.
Finally (spoiler alert), he recalls that his "friend" was his wife's lover, and was the one who injured him, and left him to die in an isolated place (maybe the woods or near a bridge).
I think his wife was killed, either by him or his friend, but I'm not sure.
I'm sort of haunted by this film, and will very much appreciate your help in identifying it.
