My Tiny Universe is a quirky comedy that takes a snapshot of the darker issues that abound in Hollywood; suicide, secrets, violence, and affairs. Suicidal Dickie Bates (Andy Comeau) finds the cellphone of a powerful Hollywood producer Bobby Devillin (played by the late John Heard). Dickie realizes the amount of leverage he has over Bobby, and holds him hostage by refusing to give back the cellphone unless Bobby humors Dickie's whims. Once Bobby's mistress Bonnie (Debbie Mazar) crashes the party, things snowball at an alarming rate. Eventually Bobby's wife Vee (Lesley Ann Warren) makes an appearance and shakes up the entire cast. Chaos and hilarity ensues throughout the entire film. Luis (Lobo Sebastian) is hysterical; I enjoyed his performance very much. The whole cast does a great job. It is a timely watch given overlapping themes with the rise of the #MeToo movement (Bobby's character of a powerful producer who uses his position to philander and abuse beautiful women who work with him comes to mind). This movie is a joyride; definitely worth a watch!
