Scenario: If the Searchers were to be released in the 2010's (as the Revenant was) and The Revenant were to be released in the 1950's (as The Searchers was) which film do you think would feel most out of place ? Trying to take into account the revisionist aspects of both films, both could be considered a traditional and a revisionist western.
