The tennis scene with Catherine Deneuve begins with a long shot where she is facing away from the camera, then turns around and walks towards the camera. I saw Belle de Jour with a friend in 1967. To this day friend insists this was a mistake in editing. The scene was supposed to begin with Deneuve walking towards the camera. I insist Luis Bunuel was too great a director to let an editing mistake get by him. There must be a reason for her to turn and begin a new direction.

Why does this still matter to us? We are friendly ex-spouses with one or two issues we still can't agree on.

Thank you
