'70s Movie with Gargoyles?

Tools

I'm trying to find a '70s movie where a guy checks into a small town motel and after he gets to his room and pulls up the window shade, we see a live gargoyle perched on the window ledge. I think it breaks through the window and attacks him.

I know it's not the 1972 TV movie with Cornell Wilde called "Gargoyles." Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. But I'll check out the DVD to be sure. Thanks!

Here it is on YouTube.

Thanks again. You saved me from buying the Criterion DVD. But that's not it. I've been searching for years with no luck so far.

Is this an American movie and are you positive it is a Gargoyle?
Pretty sure it's American. I'm not 100% sure it's a gargoyle. I guess it could be a demon or other similar creature.

This description really reminds me of Sundown: The Vampire In Retreat, but that's an 80's flick and I don't recall Campbell's character seeing a vamp/gargoyle at the window. He does visit a hotel in a small town (Sundown) though. Still it's years since I saw it.
