Star Wars: Episode III

I honestly have a good feeling about this one. Maybe it just took lucas a few tries to get back into his filmmaking groove. Or, maybe that groove is filled with money and no one cant get in. Either way, i'll come back and modify this post so i dont look like an idiot.

There are those who call me...Tim.
I honestly don't know. I thought TPM was pretty good because it seemed that Lucas had taken the time to film it properly, and THEN do his special effects, but AOTC felt rushed so he could play around with the computers and add little bits like aliens, entire sets...., and I can't see E3 being any different. On the other hand, he might want to go out with a bang and might make an effort to make a watchable film. Who knows?

Well im going to say this, (under fear of being hunted down and lynched), i enjoyed the first two episodes. Cinematically speaking, sure, there were drawbacks, but as a SW fan i enjoyed myself, and frankly i cant wait for EPIII.
And another thing, i think epII was better than EPI, which could mean EPIII is the best of the first three. Wait, then that would mean, that the entire 6 movies would then go in order of worst to best! (in my opinion)

bearing Six Strings of Stress
no way. episode 5 was the best.

+Leia and Luke born
+Luke travels at one point to the planet on Degobah, before going to live on Tatooine
+Leia stays with her mother before going to live on Alderaan
+Palpatine reveals himself as a Sith
+The Darth Sidious thing cleared up, as in the Star Wars databank Sidious is taller than Palpatine
+Who changed the details of Kamino in the Star Wars archives
+The life after death of coming back to speak to other force users (Obi-Wan with Luke), as Anakin doesnt know about it.
+The dark cave on Degobah cleared up, possibly Dooku death?
+How does Anakin get so badly injured (lava pit fight with Obi-Wan?)
+Mace Windu and Padme die.
+Darth Vader has to kill the remaining Jedi.
+The formation of The Empire.
+Anakin showing how he is one of the best 'star fighter' pilots in the galaxy, or something like that.

If you read one of the books following episode 6, the one where leia is pregnant or just had her's and han's twins, you learn of a dark jedi who died there in dagobah a long time ago. that is why the planet is so filled with the dark side of the force. that is also why yoda fled there. the darks side was so strong that it would mask him so that no one could find him. I don't remember which book it was. It was a while ago, and if I remember right, it's the one where luke meets mara jade... his future wife. I think that's her name. It's the only book I've actually read. Have thumbed through a few at the library though. never read'em.

another sad tidbit... but also a fun one for all the bad boys... luke becomes a powerful dark jedi in one of the later books

oh yeah

i have to agree about Samuel Jackson... Even though i never knew of mace windu until episode 1 and hadn't had a pre-formed idea of what he would be like, i still found him hard to get used to. is acting style... just doesn't fit

i think he did a good job, but it was awkward watching him as a jedi... too uncomfortable.

can you blame him though?

would any of you say no to Lucas at the offer of being a jedi?

Hell no!

Oh to wield a lightsaber... whoa! add an accent, and i felt like fez there for a moment from THAT 70'S SHOW.

George Lucas Talks Star Wars: Episode III Title

USA Today caught up with George Lucas who said the Star Wars: Episode III title won't be officially announced until November, when the first trailer hits threaters.

But he conceded that fans on websites already have guessed correctly. The newspaper threw a couple of rumored titles at him: Rise of the Empire? "No, that's not it," Lucas said. How about Revenge of the Sith?

With that, Lucas smiled knowingly, backed away and teased, "That's a possibility. Lots of titles out there."
Thanks to comingsoon.net for the info.

yep hahahhahha

Among the interesting bits of information is word that the first and second series of Star Wars: Clone Wars animated shorts will hit DVD in the first quarter of 2005. Also of interest (but not DVD related): the Episode III teaser trailer will debut in November, the first full trailer for the film will arrive in theaters in April 2005, and the word "Revenge" keeps appearing on marketing materials, prompting renewed speculation that Star Wars: Episode III will be called Revenge of the Sith A live action Star Wars TV series may premiere in 2006 as well.

WARNING: "Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith" spoilers below
The film will open three years after the Clone Wars began, with Obi-Wan Kenobi dispatched to bring the film's principal villain, General Grievous, to justice. Grievous will be voiced by British actor Gary Oldman and will, says the animation director, Rob Coleman, be more sinister than Darth Vader.

Queen Amidala, having married Anakin Skywalker, must at some point give birth to twins, Luke and Leia. In order to protect them from their father, Luke is cleverly hidden on his father's home planet - not so cleverly under his father's surname.

Princess Leia, meanwhile, is adopted by the Organa family on Alderaan. Unfortunately, she retains the title Princess, making it difficult to disguise the fact that she is Amidala's daughter.

OK, there are a few gaps in the long-term storytelling. It's a by-product, apologises Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz, of an original story conceived as a single film - not a six-film saga. "That touches on the convoluted story structure of the three films," he says. "I don't think you should try and investigate it too seriously."

The return of Chewbacca and a visit to the Wookiees' homeworld of Kashyyyk, are set to be the highlights of the new film. (Unlikely to make an encore appearance are Chewie's dad Itchy, wife Malla and son Lumpy, last seen in the highly dubious Star Wars Holiday Special, a 1978 made-for-TV debacle that George Lucas wishes would go away.)

Some early concept art suggests Kashyyyk will be the stage for the film's major battle scene, in which the Wookiees tackle Clone Troopers, General Grievous, and Trandoshan Slavers.

Still unclear, however, is how Lucas intends to play the penultimate confrontation between apprentice Anakin Skywalker and his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a fight promised since the debut of Star Wars in 1977, and the transformation of idealistic Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader, one of the greatest villains ever written for the screen

many-many years ago i read an article in 'time' magazine after 'the empire strikes back' cam out. it said that the reason that darth vader is 'more machine than man', that obi won and annikan got into a fight and that was the end result.
