I've thought about this as well
example: I tried to watch 2001: a Space Odyssey three times in about a two week span several years ago. Each time doing my best to set out with a sense of wonder and curiosity...
Each time, I fell asleep on the couch. One time I got to the HAL 9000 part, but didn't make it to the end before falling asleep.
Guess I can't really say I've seen it.
