Here's how 2012 looks for me:

1. The Dark Knight Rises
2. The Grey
3. Prometheus
4. Argo
5. The Avengers
6. The Amazing Spiderman
7. Jeff, Who Lives at Home
8. Chernobyl Diaries

Still lots of movies I want to see from this year though, so this list is likely to change. The only movie I haven't liked so far has been Chernobyl Diaries.

i agree with you man.

According to my IMDB profile:

Looper - 9/10 (quality entertainment)
The Dark Knight Rises - 9/10 (very very captivating but a bit over the top)
End Of Watch - 8/10 (not very memorable, probably I'll never see it again but obejctively I think it's good)
Moonrise Kingdom - 8/10 (this is objective, not my type of film)
Men In Black III - 7/10
The Avengers - 7/10 (I don't understand why it's so liked)
Project X - 6/10 (stupid but fun)
The Hunger Games - 6/10 (quite entertaining but when I saw Battle Royale,I realized that this is nothing )
Lawless - 6/10 (not very intriguing, characters were uninteresting and I didn't care how it would end)
The Amazing Spider-Man - 6/10 (I had such high expectations, previous Spiderman was better)
Holy Motors - 5/10 (not my type)
The Dictator - 5/10 (it had its moments but it's too vulgar and just idiotic)
Chronicle - 5/10 (maybe it would have been good but I was displeased with the ending)
The Raid Redemption - 5/10 (I'm not familiar with action genre overall but it seemed quality, only there was just too much action for me)
Magic Mike - 4/10 (I don't even know why I watched it,I dislike Channing Tatum a lot but at least Soderbergh chose him an appropriate role)

I have yet to see Skyfall,Argo,Django Unchained,Zero Dark Thirty. Most of them will be released in my country only in 2013.
I also want to see The Master but it's not being released in my country so I don't know how, when or if I will see it.

Zombie Preparedness Expert
My complete top 10 for 2012 (as it now stands):

1) Moonrise Kingdom
2) Argo
3) The Dark Knight Rises
4) The Avengers
5) Lincoln
6) Wreck-It Ralph
7) The Cabin in the Woods
8) Looper
9) The Hunger Games
10) The Silver Linings Playbook

I'm still missing out on quite a few of the big movies (including all the ones that recently came out) so there is still room for change here.

Watched Django Unchained today. Lived up to the hype, my second favorite of te year. Waltz once again stole the show

My ratings of 2012 films that I remember to have watched:

Chronicle - 7.5/10
John Carter - 6/10
The Dark Knight Rises - 7/10
Prometheus - 7/10
The Avengers - 7/10
Battleship - 4/10
21 Jump Street - 7/10
Hunger Games - 6/10
The hobbit - 6/10
MIB 3 - 6/10
The Dictator - 6/10

Though, currently as a novice film buff, I am more focused on watching classics from Kurosawa and Tarkovsky than watching current movies. My favorite from this year would have to be the good but not great Chronicle:

Overall, none of the 2012 movies that I have watched I rated very highly and none will appear on my favorite movies list. Maybe that's because I have not watched many 2012 movies. The best ones take time to reveal themselves.

This is my first post on here so here goes!

Here are my rankings for best movies that I've seen from 2012:

1. Silver Linings Playbook
2. Skyfall
3. Lincoln
4. Argo
5. The Master
6. Dark Knight Rises
7. Looper
8. 21 Jump Street
9. Prometheus
10. Premium Rush

I still haven't seen Django Unchained or Zero Dark Thirty which I fully expect to end up in my top 10 for the year. I tend to avoid movies that get "certified rotten" ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, so I don't have a list for worst movies.

As a side note, how do you guys make those popcorn icons?
