I have recently compiled a top 10 music albums of all time list (below) for another forum at which I post, and have posted it here, because it could turn out pretty interesting

Granted, half of the list are Radiohead albums, but with good reason. Most are British bands also, so perhaps I am a little biased. Though music is one of the few things that make me proud to be British.

So, what are your top ten music albums of all time? Here's mine (below), the order isn't that important, it's difficult enough to decide as it is.

1) Radiohead - OK Computer
The most inspirational album I have ever heard. It really has to be heard to be believed. Without doubt my favourite, and most listened to album of all time. If you haven't heard it, your life is not complete ^_~ Thom Yorke is God.
2) Radiohead - Kid A
Radiohead's most experimental album. It rewards repeat listening's. Tough going at first, certainly worth it as this in my eyes, is one of the most innovative recordings of all time.
3) Radiohead - Bends
The follow up to Pablo Honey, and the success of "Creep." Radiohead are beginning to form their unique sound with this release. A true masterpeice, the blending of electric and accoustic, voice and music are a sign of great things to come.
4) Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong (Live Recordings)
It's a rare thing to find a band who are genuinely amazing both in the studio and live. This is futher proof that Radiohead are the best live band in the world at present, I can't stop listening to this.
5) Radiohead - Pablo Honey
An interesting debut of a band that will aspire to go on to great things. A more "rock" side to Radiohead.
6) Radiohead - Ammnesiac
Recorded at the same time as Kid A, though not part of it (though they both are heavily synth/electronica based). They are both entirely seperate releases, and though Ammnesiac may appear the weaker of the two, it is a very strong recording (of particular note are the amazing piano peices). Worth it, if only for "Pryamid Song."
7) Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Billy Corgan, lyrical genious, with excellent guitar support. The Smashing Pumpkins are a band you either love or hate, I fall into the former category. Meh ... I should include all the Pumpkins' albums, each bring something new, a developing journey.
8) Oasis - What's the Story (Morning Glory)?
This album defines the 90's in Britain for me, equal to, if not surpasses that of their amazing debut. Indie at the height of it's success.
9) Oasis - Definetly Maybe
An amazing debut, despite the rough edges (technically/recording) that come with most Indie records (and all Oasis album's, bar Heathen Chemistry.) A band that will aspire to great things...
10) Ash - 1977
Songs about Star Wars, Jackie Chan and girls constitute the majority of this album. These Irish teens made the perfect singles album
11) Muse- Origin of Symmetry
Muse never fail to amaze me. They are not afraid to try something new, not following market trends as most modern bands do. However, they make take a while to get into.
12) The Verve - Urban Hymns
Epic, an interesting mix of instruments (including some orchestral peices). At the time of release it was renowed for doing something different, in a crowded genre.
13) Ed Hardcourt - Here Be Monsters
Mellow, innovative, mainstream success can't be far away.

Well, not quite 10, but close enough.

Oh heck, I dunno. Still lots of music I haven't listened to yet. A few of my favorites so far, though:
  • U2 - The Joshua Tree
Simply amazing. Their best, hands down. Five of the first six tracks are jaw-dropping.
  • Michael Jackson - Thriller
Wait a second; you mean that you can get "Thriller," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean" on the same frickin' album? Get OUT!
  • Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
What can I say? Not yet two years old, I don't believe, but an instant classic. Gotta love a lead singer who can scream without ceasing to sound as if he's singing.
  • Michael Jackson - Dangerous
A highly under-rated album. It only has one song that could be considered a huge hit ("Black or White"), but it's so incredibly consistent that it boggles the mind. It isn't like Thriller, with maybe 4 or 5 truly great songs...but rather, it's got 7 or 8 damn good ones. The only other album I can think of that managed something like that was...
  • Alanis Morisette - Jagged Little Pill
Hit after hit after hit after hit. They just keep coming. A little easier to get burned out on Alanis than other artists, but still a jaw-dropping album.
'Tis all for now.

A novel adaptation.
