The Hobbit

Has anyone heard anything official like about a Hobbit prequel?

They obviously have the money to make it, and if I were PJ I'd start now - hopefully before all your sets etc are destroyed (if they aren't already). You've already got hobbiton built and characters for Gandalf, Elrond, and Bilbo. You've got Rivendell done and Gollum as well.

I remember reading a little about this...and I don't think it'll happen. I hope it does, but I don't think so. For one, it'd be so anti-climatic...the business with Smaug and all that is completely inconsequential when compared to the enormous War of the Ring. It'd also feel, I think, more like an attempt to make more cash. I don't think it'd do as well.

I hope it happens, but I'll be utterly and totally shocked if they do...and if it does happen, I'll be even more shocked if they get PJ and all the rest back for it.
