Best foreign film of all-time

Well, Wong Kar-Wai is my favorite director, so I'll go three of his films:

Chungking Express
Fallen Angels
In the Mood for Love

plus a couple of others:

Aguirre: The Wrath of God
Week End

Amélie and Un long dimanche de fiançailles are two extremely good French movies. Next to that Phileine zegt Sorry, best (and only good) Dutch movie ever

I remember getting really sick in High School, around 1991. My dad rented Seven Samurai and Ran, I watched them all weekend. Later I discovered the Samurai Trilogy, which are probably my favorites.

Le Balloon Rouge (1956), directed by Albert Lamorisse, has earned much praise from Francophiles around the world. I remember seeing this on U.S. network TV back in the '70's, maybe through the Wonderful World of Disney movie nights.

Como Agua Para Chocolate/Like Water For Chocolate (1993) was nominated for a Golden Globe and is one of my favorite Mexican films.

I've always liked Il Postino, or Cinema Paradiso along the same lines.

The Best foreign film of all time is easily easily Life is Beautiful. The Movie does soo much to the audience. It makes you laugh so hard you cry. And then it also makes you so sad you cry. Great Story telling at its best. Its meant to stir emotions and it does. Uses simple gestures and slapstick comedy too. Roberto Benigni is powerful!!!
