I think one of the more human protagonists I've ever seen in a movie is Antoine in The 400 Blows. His behavior and dialogue, especially towards the end, really dove down into what a kid goes through when he has problems, especially if he has a truck load. I mean, it's obvious he brought on some of his own problems, but everyone around him was easily as problematic. In the end, he didn't really trust anyone anymore. With this kind of realism I'm really looking forward to the sequels, even the 30-minute short film.
