Reign of Fire

And Bill Pullman, trying manfully to sing whilst manuvering about in a sea of dancing paperboys...

"Starting now, I'm the king of New York..."

I would so like to bury my VHS copy of Newsies in the backyard and forget I ever watched it. But I can't. It's got some kind of hold on me that I can't break. Cripes, I'm such a frickin' sucker for musicals.

Reckon Christian Bale will be able to squeeze a musical number in Reign of Fire? In between shooting dragons with big guns, I mean.

Maybe Robert Sean Leonard will do a guest appearence and the two of them can break into a rip roaring swing dance with dragon flames encircling them! Yeah!

Out of curiosity what parts don't you like? I've always ignored all the romance between Jack and the girl. I just watched the movie for Brooklyn and all the choreography.
It's just so...over the top. The kid with crutches is about as cliche as a comic strip ending with "here we go again!"

More dittos than you can shake a stick at. I've seen it several times, never once really liking it. What the hell is wrong with me?

Ah yes, the force works in mysterious ways.

Anywho, back on topic.

Both Chud and AICN put out their final reviews and I was a little surprised how positive they are. Maybe this movie isn't all dragons afterall...
Here are the links if anyone cares:

Wouldn't an all-dragon movie be a GOOD thing?

Am sneaking in to the EMPLOYEE screening of this one later on today.

WELL??? What did you think? I thought it was totally entertaining...good summer fun. I'm surprised that it wasn't able to beat MIB II at the box office though. I think ROF is a much better movie than that over-marketed, over-hyped piece o' crap.

In my defense though, there was alot going on around me...

For instance,
I cant tell you how they figured out how to kill the dragons...
BUT...

I can tell you that someone named Steph got asked out on a date by Tim , and apparentky he took her to Bart's (which is a real expensive local resturaunt) then took her straight to a hotel!...

lol...

and to my right...
well lets just say the top row at the Martin four is no longer a virgin..

For the first time in my life I think the audience was more entertaining then the movie.. I just wish I had known I was going to see a porno!

Why didnt I get up and move you are wondering...
well,
to be honest I love the center seat Top row.. best seat in the house.. not only do you get a clear shot at the movie.. you can see everyone elses reactions to it as well and at our crappy theater the speakers are right by your head (woohoo.......) if I can get it,, I set there reguardless....

a more pertinant question would be
"Why in the he!! cant people go to the movies for the movie, if they want to talk they could go out to eat... and as for nookie...well.. Steph's date had the right idea....

anyhoo...
dont fret... I am going ot go see it again this weekend with my Dad. Its the 1st anniversary of his 7th divorce, adn I am taking him out to celebrate. :-) NO THAT ISNT A TYPO. 7 down...the world to go... single chics beware the man is on the prowl and he likes em in their 20's OUCH!

Dear God. Pretty soon he'll have more ex-wives than teeth.

What I want to know is what the seventh was thinking. "Oh, he's been through six divorces, but I'm sure he just married six awful women in a row. He and I though...we'll make it. We're different."

THEN when he buys all this new great stuff... I'll come back, get him to buy me a new car and leave AGAIN TAKING EVERYTHING".... literally...he came home his computer was sitting in the kitchen floor... she even took the damn surge protector!

That b**ch better pray I never see her in public....
