My favourite movies of 2023

These are my favourite movies that I saw this year.
I heard good things about Barbie, but I haven't seen it yet.

1. Godzilla Minus One. The quintessential Godzilla movie.

2. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I had low expectations for this movie, but it surprised me by how good it was.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy 3. If this is the last Guardians movie, it's not a bad send-off..

4. Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse is another movie that surpassed my expectations.

5. The creator. I wouldn't have gone to the theatre to see this one, but I heard a few good reviews and there was nothing else playing in October that interested me. It's a good, original sci-fi flick.

6. Elementals is an animated movie with heart, and these days that's a rare thing.

Eileen is another good one.

As I clock up more from 2023, my best-of list is changing... The Killer has got to be right up there for me. Saltburn and Nyad are another two that I was impressed by.

It's a shame that films like 'The Zone of Interest', 'Poor Things' and 'All of Us Strangers' aren't released where I am yet as they'd likely be in contention. Maybe I'll have seen them by the time we vote for the MoFo 2023 awards.
