One of the greatest composers that worked in the industry.

He had so much more to compose for us; so much more music that needed to be created. We'll never get to see that.

Wow. That hits hard. What a great composer. He will be missed.

And yeah, way f*cking too young. I feel like the guy, as stunning a musician as he was, still had his best work ahead of him.

I cannot believe this. I'm genuinely crestfallen at this news.

The guy was such a compliment to Denis Villeneuve movies and a huge talent in his own right.

I'm going to sink a bottle of red in his honour. Absolutely gutted.

I saw Leigh Whannell say on Twitter about how he would often listen to Johann Johannsson while screenwriting. It's interesting because I do too - I have some Johannsson on my "screenwriting" playlist. It's great music for writing to. I wonder if a lot of current screenwriters listen to him while writing. I wouldn't be surprised.

One more thing. I think one of the best things an artist can do is inspire other artists - I think that speaks volumes about the power of their work - and every time I heard Johannsson's work, it inspired my greatly as a budding musician and filmmaker. He clearly inspired a lot of people.
