Ok....Delicate question...Should....

Should they make a movie about what happenned a year ago.

I know thay have already made shorts about its affect on peoples lives.

But a full scale hollywood treatment.

I know they will...It is inevitable.

(sigh)

But should we?...should we?

To some people it is painful. To others terrifying.

In a sense no movie can even come close to what we felt that day. It's almost pointless

But the media thrives on tragedy.

Your points please...be honest...don't sugar coat.

It'll be awhile I bet. I wouldn't doubt if it showed up on television first though.

A novel adaptation.
They should go for it.
Really cheese it up, too. Disrespectful, pullnopunches hollywood movie.

I know I'd go. The rest of the nation, AND world would attend.
Plus, if they made it shocking, people would keep coming.
I really think it's time to (I apologise) get over the whole thing.

So many terrible things were just flying by, in the name of the war against terrorism, I think a good, distasteful movie will knock some sense, and a little more awareness into a country thats been dulled and numbed by the experience.

To those victims it would be bring back very haunting memories and I do believe for their sake it would be wrong it would depend in what taste the movie was made, if it were made in the way where it is almost like a great tribute to the heros of ground zero who save the survivor than I believe it to be as good idea, if it were just to show the tragedy and torment of the event than I believe they should reconsider

A novel adaptation.
I'll agree that for the survivors, it would be haunting, and maybe even terrible.
But the people who didn't even experience 9/11 constantly making the demand to relive, and show so much respect tto it, is so voyeuristic, almost pornographic even.
Our fascination with this tragedy is more than a little sick, and a whole lot selfish.

Do the movie, get it over with.

Honestly, I have a good idea for a fantasy screenplay on the whole subject. I wouldn't mind running it up against you harsh critics, but I don't think Hollywood would be at all interested. I think it's epic in nature. But that's just me.

A novel adaptation.
Do it, I know I'm interested.

Sure

Why not? The market will decide if it was a good idea or not. If it flops, it wasn't.

Personally I wouldn't watch it. We had so much coverage of the real event in all of it's horror that I just wouldn't find it interesting.

Maybe in 60 years they can turn it into a sappy love story like Pearl Harbor.

Seraph of the Void
They made many many movies of Pearl Harbor.

If they made the movie about a few people trapped at the top and they emphasized the reactions of those people and the families of those people....maybe

they could stress the love they had with their families. the despair of those who jumped. the helpless feeling those who couldnt contact them felt and maybe the discovery of those few who survived (like the fireman trapped) as a final step.

Keep the jingoism out of it, keep the gore down. No anti-middleeastern/foreigner themes.

perhaps just a point of view we couldnt have. the firefighters in there and the people at the top. It might make us question what we would have done.

They will make many movies of it.
That I am sure.

But I hope it will not become a political message.
Jaws kept people away from the beaches.
This Movie could keep people from accepting all non-anglo foregners for a great time.
We as a country would slide back 40 years in tolerance issues.

In all honesty I feel the true tragedy was the loss of so many firefighters and policemen who swore to save lives against any adversity.

Not to downplay the loss of lives of those in the building or the planes..or at the Pentagon. That was very tragic.

But we lost so many true heroes in a moment it numbs the mind.

What delicate subject matter has Hollywood failed to capitalise on yet...it`s inevitable.

Yep i agree it is totally bound to happen sooner or later, although i reckon there will be soooooo much ....i dont know what the word is im trying to use here......ummmmm petitions orsomething like that against a movie that it certainly wont happen for a very very long time.

I do have to say that i dont agree with the way things are being changed such as the spiderman movie being totally cropped cosit scenes of the twin towers in it, or apparently all the old epsiodes of friends being editedto remove the towers. I mean things like this should be remembered....not erased in case they upset someone. The upsets already been done. I would say keeping the towers in movies would show how America is defiant or something against terrorism. Not laying down and trying to wipe away all memory. Am i making sense? Just my humble opinion anyways

Seraph of the Void
I totally agree

It is ludicrous when they remove the towers from film or t.v.

It's like we are trying to deny the ever existed!!!

Are they gonna try to remove the pentagon from every movie or t.v. episode that had a shot of it? (there goes all those old episodes of the six million dollar man)

Are they gonna remove all shots of airliners from all movies just cause they might cause a panic?!?!?

Those Airplane movies will look very silly with the plane digitally edited out and the passengers flying in a group though the stormy skies....um...yeah...um...

What about movies like the medusa touch where a plane hits a building?..are they gonna ban that?

It silly I say silly

I don’t agree with Hollywood doing the movie but I know I wont be able to stop it from happening. Cashing in on others pain and suffering, this movie wouldn’t be for respect or celebration but for the money, greed. It’s the same as the television coverage, there was 14 hours of September 11 on our local station during the night and morning not out of ceremony but for ratings, its enough to make me , movies like these should be made out of respect for the fallen not money, but inevitably it will make no difference.

I would only like to see a movie about the backround, maybe ending with the event. It would also have to include the one that went down in Pennsilvania. No one would make this horrible, when you came out of a film about 9/11 it would make you feel proud to be an american. I dont think it would hurt anyone.

Too many people are making 9/11 into their own success, ESPICALLY George Bush. It might as well be made into a movie.
