Space movie :?

Hi all

i watched a movie back in the early nineties...so i guess the movie was made mid to late 80s :?

i think it plays off in space about a man or robot on a space ship

i think the movie is about sexuality or discovering it or something about sex (def. Not blue lagoon) and it wasn't a low budget porn movie i watched it with my mother...maybe she was trying to teach me about the birds and the bees but i was too stupid

all i can remember is as the movie starts the man/robot is making doll/marionette but a very distinct doll :? i found a pic and the dolls look just like the robot in I, ROBOT weird....long shaped head etc etc

I saw that several months ago, but not from the beginning. Not too good, but watchable.
